Iris House understands the stresses placed on the parents of life limited special needs children. The loss of a child is a pain all bereaved parents share, and it is a degree of suffering that is almost impossible to grasp without experiencing it first hand. Often, when we know someone else is experiencing grief, others discomfort keeps them from approaching it head on. Iris House has a a trained grievance councillor available to support families in their time of need. We have also partnered with Compassionate Friends a support group made up of parents who have lost a child themselves.
An Iris House family is never alone, they are supported by our team and importantly will always be apart of our family.
We are in the process of setting up our Remembrance Garden at our Hospice to provide a tranquil setting for parents to reflect and a final resting place for their child’s ashes.
