At Iris House Children’s Hospice, we do not only offer the much-needed respite care and support to our families, but we also try to spoil them as often as we can by organising events where they can comfortably join in knowing that they are in an environment which caters for their child’s special needs.
One such event was our recent Easter Egg Hunt, which took place on Sunday, 20 March at our hospice grounds in Stikland, Bellville.
There were loads of chocolate eggs hidden all over the property as well as lawn games, art activities and board games set up. Our children had a great time taking strolls and walk in our sensory garden, catching bubbles while jumping on the trampoline and feeding our adorable hospice animals.
Everybody could help themselves to a light lunch, refreshments and sweet treats and our families had a lovely time relaxing on picnic blankets, chatting to old friends and making new ones.
The Easter Egg Hunt kicked off at 11h00 and there were more than enough treats hidden to ensure big smiles on the faces of all participants.
At Iris House, our services and support are offered completely free of charge to all our registered families, and although this can be financially challenging at times, it is something we will continue doing throughout our existence.
This is why the monthly contributions we receive from My School My Village My Planet and the Woolworths grocery donations plays such a big part in allowing us to keep on making a positive difference in the lives of our children with special needs and to support practical needs.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Woolworths and ALL our valued supporters!
