October the 7th we trained six new carers for various areas, North, Mfuleni and Vredenburg. Joining us was our second male carer Marco Charles who did his practical for fundraising in 2013 with Iris House and has clearly not forgotten us. What as also very special about the training was the fact to that we trained three Mfuleni Mom’s who themselves have special needs children. It is a long term goal for Iris House to not only empower people in the community but also where possible to up lift our parents. The group will now undergo training in the field under senior carers plus their level one first aid, they will then receive their care bags, toy boxes and uniforms. We would like to welcome the new carers and hope they enjoy their work with Iris House.
