Gardening:
Iris House has just over 1 acre of grounds to maintain. We also have various animals on our grounds including two horses, two sheep and five silky chickens. We have a main entrance flower bed which is always needing tending and replanting due to the sheep being – well being sheep. We also have an amazing sensory garden which needs constant maintenance and new plants. Our lawns also need fertilising (we have our own worm farm and fertiliser boxes) weeding and mowing. We have a Grey water system that feeds the entire hospice grounds.
Requirements: Gardening volunteers just need to enjoy what the do, we will supply you with gloves and sunblock, any plants donated are very appreciated.
