Iris House takes great pride in having achieved Child Protection Organisation status in 2020. Our primary objective is to train and support foster parents, ensuring their preparedness to provide nurturing care to Special Needs Children in vulnerable situations. The issue of children being abandoned, neglected, and subjected to abuse is unfortunately not a recent phenomenon, and it is disheartening to note that Special Needs Children are four times more susceptible to becoming victims of abuse compared to their “typical” peers. At Iris House Children’s Hospice, we maintain a steadfast zero-tolerance policy towards child abuse.
