Mandela Day 18th July 2025 – Iris House Projects 

Sensory Garden revamp – team of 8 – bring new plants/flowers/garden ornaments – wind
chimes and 3 x 10 Lt paint color Blue / Green / Purple / to re-paint our container – we currently
have a mural, but it is faded. (Please bring your rollers/brushes/ turpentine etc.) The back wall
also needs new large mirrors 10 x 800×800 and 10 x silicon for our children who often don’t see
themselves as everything is “done for them” +- R10 000
Repainting of the hospice shop, Maintenance container and Jungle gym poles – team of 4 –
Supply and paint – 20Lt green paint (please bring your rollers/brushes/ turpentine etc.) +-
R4 000
Hospice Repairs – team of 8 – repair/replace and fix worn window fittings (brass) and paint
window frames and window ledges inside and out. – 4 x 4 x colour paints Blue / Green / Yellow /
Purple to paint window frames, (please bring your rollers/brushes/turpentine etc.) +- R 10 000
Stand Alone fish tank for reception area – team of 3 – purchase fish tank, fish, lights, and
accessories, and place it in our reception area – Donors’ names can go on a plaque above this +-

General Gardening at our hospice – team of 4 – to supply new plants, and flowers (please
bring garden tools for planting) +- R4000
Painting of exterior walls – a team of 8 – purchase white exterior paint 20LT for walls (feel
free to add murals if you have an artist on your team) (please bring your own rollers/brushes/
turpentine etc.) +- R4000
Painting of horse paddocks and poles – team of 8 – purchase white exterior paint 20LT for
the poles and 15Lt of peach paint for the paddocks. (please bring your own rollers/brushes/
turpentine etc.) +- R5000
Wooden fencing around the vegetable garden – team of 8 – rebuild and supply wood picket
fence around our vegetable garden and 15 litres of white paint for picket fence (please bring
electric drill, screwdriver, jigsaw, hammer, nails and screws etc.) and (please bring your own
rollers/brushes/ turpentine etc.) +- R6000
Re-do irrigation system – team of 8 – our current system needs to be repaired (if you have a
plumber, this one’s for you) (Please bring irrigation piping, sprinkler, irrigation timer, fittings etc.)
and tools required to complete this job +- R10 000
Re-vamp our Food Storage Room – team of 8 – supply and install an Air conditioner for our
food storage room, and rhino 14 board 3m long 38×38 6m long battens for cladding inside and
15lt white paint (please bring drill, screws, and rollers/brushes/ turpentine etc.) +- R15 000
